Using the app
Light Learning is a learning app for children. You may use it for your family, your class or your tutoring, on the devices your Apple ID allows. Please do not copy the content out of it and sell it as your own.
Subscriptions
Light Learning is free to use, with a paid subscription that unlocks every grade, all six curricula, the parent and school reports, practice papers, setting work, and removes the daily activity limit.
- Monthly and yearly plans are offered. The price and length are shown on the
purchase screen before you buy, in your own currency.
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of
the current period. Your Apple ID is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period.
- Manage or cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the
app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any free trial period is forfeited when you buy a subscription, where that applies.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us: reportaproblem.apple.com.
What the app does not promise
Light Learning is aligned to published curricula and says which, and it is practice rather than a school. It cannot promise a grade, a pass, or a place. Nothing in it is a substitute for a teacher, and the reports are a description of what happened in the app rather than an assessment of a child.
Nothing in the app is medical, psychological or diagnostic advice. The reports deliberately never say a child is behind, gifted, or has a difficulty, because those are judgements for a person who has met them.
Content
The passages, questions, explanations and games are ours or are original to this app. Traditional rhymes and public-domain material are used as such. Curriculum documents are referenced by name for alignment; we do not reproduce them.
Availability
We try to keep the app working, and it runs offline by design so that a bad connection is not your problem. We cannot promise it will be free of every fault, and where we find one we fix it and say so.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada that apply there.
